Originally based in the Vendée region, VM Matériaux has grown into a corporation that today extends its business over Western France and the overseas departments.
The VM Matériaux group plays an active part in the building market with 3 complementary fields of activity: building material trading, production of pre-cast and ready-mix concrete, as well as manufacturing of external joinery (doors, windows) and closures (shutters, fences and gates) . Among its clients, VM Matériaux has both professionals in the building industry and DIY customers.
Building material trading (75%)
With its 116 agencies (including 22 agencies overseas), VM Matériaux has a trading network specialize in distribution of materials for the building and public works sector. The relationship between the agencies and their clients is very close. They are always at the clients’ disposal for any professional advice. The group is also present in China where it has an activity of sourcing products and trading of natural stone designed to external work and interior decoration.
Member of the cooperative "MCD"
VM Matériaux is the member of “MCD” (Building Material Distribution), a cooperative which groups 6 independent and regional leaders in construction material trading, with 618 agencies and a turnover of € 2.4 billion (in 2008).
The Concrete industry (12%)
The industrial pre-cast and ready-mix concrete branch of VM Matériaux counts twenty-five plants produce around 680 000 m3 of ready mixed concrete every year, and five factories specialized in industrial pre-cast which offers lots of high quality products for world of construction such as slabs, cobbles, etc…
Industrial joinery (13%)
Atlantem is the industrial joinery unit which is composed of 11 factories. It manufactures a wide range of PVC, aluminium or wooden external joinery (doors and windows), as well as entry closures (shutters, fences and gates) . Atlantem also manufactures industrial and traditional frameworks in four of its specialized factories.
